A Deeper Look

Sometimes, I try a product for the first time and I’m immediately in love. It happened with the SDJ. It happened with the Glossier. And then it happened again with these, a sumptuous set of decadent balms astonishing in their simplicity and their effectiveness.

First: a little background. METTA GOOD is a female-founded small business that specializes in lip and body care products. All of their products are handmade in small batches, all of their ingredients are ethically and (where feasible) locally sourced, and you can bet that Sephora’s “Clean and Planet-Positive” initiative would approve of this whole vibe.

(Oh and, they have no relation to this creepy endeavor that’s working to control our free will. That’s pretty important, too.)

How do I love these balms? Let me count the ways.

I love the sleek, narrow packaging – perfect for stuffing in the tightest of jegging pockets.

I love the range of “flavors,” my favorite being Blood Orange Vanilla (it’s a bestseller for a reason!). Bonus: I had never heard of “Palo santo” before but now I want every room in my apartment to be enveloped in its citrusy goodness.

I love the buttery texture on my lips, achieved by the perfect blend of beeswax and a handful of premiums oils, including jojoba and avocado.

I love that it’s no frills. Sometimes balms try to do too much and fail. Sometimes balms do too little and fail.

This lip balm line does just the right amount and knocks it fully out of the park. Bravo.

(Gifted by founder Nicole, but opinions are 100% my own.)
